Reconnect has moved to a new location.
Woah - fun news alert! We’re thrilled to announce the opening of our new cabin location, tucked away in wildflower meadows just outside Hitchin, Hertfordshire. Only a short train ride from London, this off-grid hideaway is designed to help you slow down, reconnect with nature, and breathe more deeply… We spent the first half of July moving our cabin from one site to another, in the mid-summer heat, on our own (well, with the occasional hand from both of our Dads).
Our new location is on a 1500 acre regenerative working farm, slap bang in the middle of many private meadows, ensuring total privacy and gorgeous views from the cabin.
A New Kind of Cabin Retreat in Hertfordshire
We didn’t just move the cabin, we also upgraded the cabin. Raising the cabin off the ground for better views and building out a larger decking for more outdoor relaxing space. We sunk the onsen bath into the decking, so that you can enjoy your views of nature whilst feeling as close as possible to it.
We built more outdoor storage space for our logs for fires, and for outdoor cooking equipment and lanterns for mood lighting. Making sure that there’s more space indoors for all of the indoor items you might need during your stay.
Our cabins aren’t just places to stay—they’re spaces to reset. Hidden in re-wilded farmland near Hitchin, this cabin has been carefully crafted by interior designers (Monica & Luke) to blend luxury touches with off-grid simplicity. Think floor-to-ceiling views of meadow grasses, a king-size bed dressed in hotel-quality linen, and an outdoor deck where you can watch the sunset in complete privacy.
Powered by solar energy and built with sustainability in mind, the cabin gives you all the comfort you need while leaving a light footprint on the land.
The new location has a more varied landscape, with lots of shady areas under old oak trees and slightly undulating hills and dips, which allows you to see more scenery.
You have a bit of meadow, of woods and of dotted trees. We’ve even hung a hammock between two large oak trees, which gets the perfect view over sunrise and sunset. Over the next few months we’ll be installing more surprises to encourage guests to get out of the cabin and explore the grounds.
Why Hitchin?
Hitchin is a charming market town in Hertfordshire, famous for its cobbled streets, vibrant independent shops, and the nearby Hitchin Lavender fields that burst into colour each summer. Just 20 minutes from London by train, it makes for the perfect weekend escape from the city—close enough for ease, far enough for peace.
Whether you’re seeking a romantic cabin getaway, a solo wellness break, or a countryside staycation with a difference, our new Hitchin cabin is the perfect setting.
Our new location is close to Lannock Farm, which has massage treatment rooms, a bakery, a farm shop, Botivo bottling workshop, a microbrewery, gelato and coffee roasters. Perfect for treating yourself during your stay and making it extra special.
There’s also two pubs walkable from the cabin - one 5-10 mins away and the other 15-20 mins away. Great British pubs at your finger tips.
