Reconnect is our cabin located close to London, in St Albans. A stone's throw from London and easily accessible by car and by train.
The closest train stations are St Albans City, Harpenden or Welwyn Garden City. It’s a short taxi ride from all three, approximately 10-15 minutes. Uber is widely available. There is parking available for anyone wanting to drive. Off-road parking, available for maximum two vehicles.
*Thinking of cycling? It’s an easy 6.6km from the St Albans City station to the cabin.
Once you arrive, there is a trolley to unload your belongings into, and there’s a 170 metre walk, on a slight slope, up to the cabin.
Re-Wild, our location in Lancashire has two cabins, Rest and Recharge. We recommend coming by car to this location as it is remote, in a National Landscape. 1 hour from Manchester, 1.5 hours from Leeds, Liverpool and Blackpool, 2 hours from Sheffield and a 5 hour drive from London.

Part of the Re experience is encouraging you to disconnect from your devices and have a digital detox, as such we do not provide wifi in the cabin.
However, Reconnect cabin is well connected to most mobile networks, and has strong 4G signal. You won’t feel disconnected from the digital world, unless you want to be.
Phone signal is more limited at our Lancashire location, however we have plenty of books, games and hikes to keep you occupied during your stay. We recommend downloading an offline map prior to arriving to the cabins.

These will be waiting in the fridge for you on arrival - so you don't need to think about food supplies.
Re-Wild - We are working on getting local food hampers to these cabins, however they are not yet currently available. Please do reach out with any special requests in the meantime.

We ask that you notify us as soon as this happens on hello@recabins.com
Small accidents happen and we don’t want to penalise you for enjoying yourself. However, as a small independent company we have to cover these costs. We hope you’ll take care of our little cabins and the surrounding land. In the case of damage we will request payment to cover these damages after your stay.
This also applies to anything you might accidentally remove from the cabin that we have provided. Be careful to check your bags before you leave to make sure you haven’t taken any charging cables, water bottles, speakers or books etc. by accident!

All cabins - We have carefully chosen our locations so that it is private, and gives you the space you need to relax in peace. However, you are not very far from nearby residents, including our local support team.
Reconnect - Nobody except you will access the meadow during your stay, however they are nearby in case you need them.
The 8 acre meadow itself has a locked gate, with the combination code changing between stays. The cabin is secured by a locking front door and internally locking windows. The key to the cabin is housed in an external lock box that only you and us have the code for. The meadow itself is located in a very peaceful area of the countryside. We know some people might feel uncomfortable being remote, however this location is a nice combination of privacy and proximity to nearby neighbours.
The private landowner whose land you are staying in, lives next door and is on hand for any emergencies. However, you shouldn’t bump into them unless you reach out to them. Details on how to find them will be provided in the cabin.
Re-Wild - The Farmer whose land you are staying on lives in a farmhouse nearby and is on hand for any on-site issues or emergencies.

Bring whatever you need to feel cosy. We operate a no shoe policy within the cabin, but you’re welcome to bring thick socks or slippers! We provide hot water bottles to keep you warm on extra cold days, but the wood burning stove should keep you warm.
We provide complimentary wellies from Merry People at our cabin locations in a variety of sizes, however you may want to consider your footwear, depending on the time of year of your stay. Wellies or hiking boots are recommended during the wetter months. So is a waterproof jacket! You may want to bring a tote bag or rucksack for any outdoor adventures you’re planning.
As an eco-conscious brand, we recommend that you bring your own reusable water bottle, however there is one provided in the cabin for the duration of your stay in case you forget.
We provide body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body moisturiser and hand soap, so no need to bring these with you.
A general tip is to pack light. There isn’t loads of room in the cabin, so bear that in mind whilst you’re packing. We’ve tried to include enough within the cabin already, so that you won’t need much more than your clothes, a good book, your journal and yourself. There is room underneath the benches for your bags.
We have an outdoor boot rack for any wellies or boots, and space inside to keep your trainers warm.
-
Our cabins are powered by solar power. We have plenty of solar stored for your stay - we haven’t run out once!
We still ask you to be mindful of running hairdryers or fans etc. and be conscious of energy use as an eco-conscious brand.
-
Yes, the water is perfectly safe to drink. It is the same tap water in your home.
It can be challenging to get water to remote places, so we recommend conserving your water usage where possible. A 3-minute shower uses 7.5 gallons of water. You won't ever run out of water during your stay, but as an eco-conscious brand, we ask you to minimise your usage.
Think before filling the bath-tub to the brim (you will fill the tub up more just by getting in!)
-
Reconnect - The bathroom has a sink, rainfall & handheld shower and a waterless toilet. Not your icky composting toilet, but not your usual flushable toilet. Lift the toilet lid up and you’ll find that the the solids area remains covered from view with a clever, automatic concealing screen (it opens as you sit down and closes as you stand up).
Re-Wild - Bathrooms here are fully plumbed in and you have sinks, showers and flushing toilets.
