  • Closest train stations are St Albans City, Harpenden or Welwyn Garden City. It’s a short taxi ride from all three, approximately 10-15 minutes. Uber is widely available. There is parking available for anyone wanting to drive. Off-road, available for maximum two vehicles.

Once you arrive, there is a trolley to unload your belongings into, and there’s a 170 metre walk, on a slight slope, up to the cabin.

Please do not drive your car across the field. In wet weather this area may become muddy, so we advise you to drive straight in, and reverse back out to the road (only about 5 metres from the road). The area immediately within the entrance has a hard core underneath the grass, so it is suitable for vehicles. No turning is allowed in this area.

  • We ask that you notify us as soon as this happens on the support number provided to you at time of booking.

Small accidents happen, and we don’t want to penalise you for enjoying yourself. However, as a small independent company we have to cover these costs. We hope you’ll take care of our little cabin and the surrounding land. However in the case of damage we will request payment to cover these damages after your stay.

This also applies to anything you might accidentally remove from the cabin that we have provided. Be careful to check your bags before you leave to make sure you haven’t taken any charging cables, water bottles or books etc. by accident!

  • We have carefully chosen this location so that it is private, and gives you the privacy you need to relax in peace. However, you are not very far from nearby residents, including our local support team. Nobody except you will access the meadow during your stay, however they are nearby in case you need them.

The 8 acre meadow itself has a locked gate, with the combination code changing between stays. The cabin is secured by a locking front door and internally locking windows. The key to the cabin is housed in an external lock box that only you and us have the code for. The meadow itself is located in a very peaceful area of the countryside. We know some people might feel uncomfortable being too remote, however this location is a nice combination of privacy and proximity to nearby neighbours.

The private landowner whose land you are staying in, lives next door and is on hand for any emergencies. However, you shouldn’t bump into them unless you reach out to them. Details on how to find them will be provided in the cabin.

  • The cabin sleeps two adults comfortably. However, there is no room for additional overnight guests beyond this. You are not allowed to invite anyone else to pitch a tent and camp alongside you.

We do appreciate that the meadow is a really nice place to be, and you might want to invite friends to join you for lunch or dinner. We have no problem with day guests (a maximum of 6) picnicking or enjoying a BBQ with you, so long as you enjoy the land quietly and tidily and don’t disturb your neighbours. All additional guests need to have vacated the property by 10pm, and are not allowed to stay overnight.

Anyone that does not comply with the above rules, will be required to vacate the premises without a refund given for any portion of your stay.

  • Bring whatever you need to feel cosy. We operate a no shoe policy within the cabin, but you’re welcome to bring thick socks or slippers! We provide hot water bottles to keep you warm on extra cold days, but the wood burning stove should keep you warm.

You may want to consider your footwear, depending on the time of year of your stay. Wellies or hiking boots are recommended during the wetter months. So is a waterproof jacket! You may want to bring a tote bag or rucksack for any outdoor adventures you’re planning.

As an eco-conscious brand, we recommend that you bring your own reusable water bottle, however there is one provided in the cabinfor the duration of your stay in case you forget.

We provide body wash and hand soap, so no need to bring these with you. Although bring your conditioner and shampoo if you need these.

A general tip is to pack light. There isn’t loads of room in the cabin, so bear that in mind whilst you’re packing. We’ve tried to include enough within the cabin already, so that you won’t need much more than your clothes, a good book, your journal and yourself. There is room underneath the benches for your bags.

We have an outdoor boot rack for any wellies or boots, and space inside to keep your trainers warm.

  • Our maintenance crew will check the battery level before your arrival. If it’s been bad weather then the batteries may need topping up with the backup generator. Our crew will do this for you before you arrive. If you find that you haven’t got power, please text the support phone number provided to you. This shouldn’t happen, but we cannot guarantee it. We recommend you being conscious about your electricity usage while in the cabin.

  • Yes, the water is perfectly safe to drink. It is the same tap water in your home. It can be challenging to get water to remote places, so we recommend conserving your water usage where possible. A 3-minute shower uses 7.5 gallons of water. You won't ever run out of water during your stay, but as an eco-conscious brand, we ask you to consider your usage.

  • If during your stay the gas stove, or boiler stop working.. Please don’t panic. This is perfectly normal and does happen occasionally. Sadly, the gas can’t last forever and its very difficult to know when it’ll run out! Although we always have spare gas canisters at the ready, and will need to turn on the new gas.

Please call or message our support staff on: +447919411224 (mobile), or +441582834236 (landline) , and we will send someone to switch the gas over.
